Catherine joined Glass Technology Services in 2010 after completing her BSc(hons) degree in Industrial Product Design. She worked for a number of years within the Product Performance department carrying out a wide range of testing, from fracture analysis to impact testing and residual stress assessment on a variety of different product types. Catherine quickly specialised in fracture analysis and regularly carried out complex analysis on broken products within the pharmaceutical and container sectors. She also delivered our Fracture Analysis training course both internally and to external clients. Throughout her time in Product Performance, Catherine was involved in work across a large section of the supply chain, regularly completing analysis for glass manufacturers, retailers and final consumers.
Catherine has been heavily involved within the consultancy area of the business for a number of years which has allowed her to draw on her Industrial Product Design background in carrying out design assessments and new product development work. Together with her experience in Product Performance and knowledge of why glass breaks, this allows her to work closely with clients to ensure they have a strong understanding of factors which need to be considered when implementing a new design.
In her role as Technical Operations Lead, Catherine oversees technical operations within Glass Technology Services and pushes the teams towards more efficient and effective working whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality through the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
